Chelsea was set to marry Rasmus, the man of her dreams. On their wedding day, Chelsea woke up excited, eagerly preparing with her sister Jess. As they got ready, Jess noted their mother’s absence, but Chelsea reassured her that it was better for their parents to meet them at the venue due to past conflicts with Rasmus.
Arriving at the venue, Chelsea was shocked to find it completely empty. “Where is everyone?” Jess asked, echoing Chelsea’s confusion. Panicked, Chelsea called their wedding planner, Brenda, who revealed, “The wedding was canceled. The directive came through your email address just three days ago.” Chelsea was stunned, as she had no memory of sending such an email.
After ruling out her parents and sister, Chelsea realized the only other person with access to her email was Rasmus. She confronted him at their apartment. Rasmus, casually eating cereal, confessed he canceled the wedding because he panicked about not being ready for marriage. “I didn’t have the courage to tell you,” he admitted.
Heartbroken but relieved, Chelsea understood that her parents were right about Rasmus. Standing in her wedding dress, she pondered her next steps, realizing she deserved better.
