McDonald’s is set to revive childhood memories with the reintroduction of Adult Happy Meals and McNugget Buddies, tapping into the nostalgia many adults feel for the iconic fast-food chain. This marketing move aims to cater to long-time fans and introduce a new generation to the joys of McDonald’s.
Consumers can choose between two Adult Happy Meal options: the Big Mac Adult Meal or the 10-piece McNugget Meal. Both come with fries and a soft drink. To make the reintroduction special, McDonald’s has collaborated with Kerwin Frost, creating the Kerwin Frost Box and a new lineup of McNugget Buddies inspired by the 1990s.
The McNugget Buddies lineup includes six characters like Uptown Moe, Waffutu, BRRRICK, Don Bernice, Darla, and Kerwin Frost. Each character, part of Frost Way, wears outfits inspired by Kerwin’s childhood, promoting the idea that “everyone should feel free to express themselves.”
The Kerwin Frost Box, featuring the Adult Happy Meal, will be available from December 11. McDonald’s will release merchandise based on the Kerwin Frost collection, with proceeds benefiting the Harlem Arts Alliance. While reactions on social media are mixed, McDonald’s nostalgic offerings reflect its enduring appeal and ability to connect with fans across generations.
