On a frigid evening, elderly Lili meets Harry, a desperate boy pleading for shelter. “Can I come home with you? I have nowhere else to go,” he asks. Lili’s compassionate heart cannot refuse, and she takes him to her cozy home.
As they warm up by the fireplace, Harry reveals, “I live in a foster home. There are too many of us in a small room.” Concerned, Lili calls the police to ensure his safety.
When Child Protective Services dismisses her concerns, Lili decides to investigate. She finds Harry’s foster home in terrible condition. Pretending to take official photos, she gathers evidence of neglect. Confronted by the foster parents, she leaves but remains determined to help.
That night, Lili rescues Harry and other children from the foster home. A police officer stops them but believes their story. “We’ll make sure you’re all safe,” he assures them.
A year later, Lili has adopted Harry, and they visit his now-thriving friends. Harry smiles, “I’m so glad you found us that night, Lili. You changed our lives.” Lili responds, “No, Harry. You all changed mine.”
