Caroline had been saving for her daughter Angela’s college fund since birth. When a classmate revealed Angela wasn’t enrolled in college, Caroline was devastated and determined to uncover the truth.
“Children are always going to break your heart,” Caroline lamented. Despite her husband Holden’s suggestion to start saving later, she was adamant about securing Angela’s education. “I wasn’t able to study, Holden. Angela is going to get that opportunity.”
Angela seemed to handle her college applications independently, even asking Caroline to transfer her college fund. Trusting her daughter, Caroline did so without hesitation.
One day, Caroline met Angela’s classmate, Trina, who revealed Angela never enrolled in college. Shocked, Caroline confronted Angela, who finally admitted she used the money to open a coffee shop. “This is my place, Mom. I live in the apartment upstairs,” Angela confessed. “I wanted to open my own business.”
Hurt and disappointed, Caroline struggled to understand but acknowledged Angela’s passion. “I’m proud of what you’ve accomplished,” she said. Angela promised to earn back her trust and pursue distance learning.
