Suzi returned from a business trip to find her belongings on the doorstep. Exhausted, she was bewildered to see her clothes, shoes, and books in garbage bags. Fumbling for her keys, her mother-in-law, Anna, opened the door with a smirk.
“What’s going on? Why are all my things in garbage bags?” Suzi asked.
Anna replied nonchalantly, “You left Daniel to starve, so I came to cook. I noticed some garbage in the house and needed to tidy up.”
Fuming, Suzi confronted her mother-in-law, who dismissed her concerns and went upstairs to rest. Suzi decided to wait for her husband, Daniel, to return home to resolve the issue. However, Daniel sided with Anna, saying, “Ma’s just trying to help, Su.”
Later that night, Suzi left her wedding ring on the table and went to her sister’s house. The next day, Daniel called, desperate to talk.
