Kira’s discovery about her origins changes her life forever, threatening her relationships with her closest loved ones. Can she come to terms with the past and find a new place in her family?
Kira asked her strict mother, Sarah, to go to a party. “You’re not going,” Sarah said firmly. Frustrated, Kira pleaded with her father, Tom, but he sided with Sarah. Determined, Kira snuck out through the garage, where she found a shocking photo of her sister, Meredith, pregnant at Kira’s age.
At the party, the police arrived, and Kira was caught. She called Meredith to pick her up. In the car, Kira showed Meredith the photo. “Why are you pregnant in this photo?” Kira asked. Meredith replied, “I’m your mother.”
Back home, Sarah and Tom confronted them. “You’ve lied to me my whole life!” Kira screamed and ran to the river. Meredith found her and explained, “I was 15 when you were born. Mom didn’t want anyone to know.”
Kira, still hurt, began to accept the truth. “So, should I call you Mom?” she asked. Meredith replied, “Call me whatever feels right. We’ll get used to this gradually.”
