Dolly Parton, the iconic country music legend hailing from Tennessee, has basked in decades of adoration for her performances and songs. While she’s celebrated for dazzling her extensive fan base, the septuagenarian star, now 76, has declared her retirement from touring.
In an interview with Pollystar, Dolly explained her decision: “I may make occasional appearances at lively festivals or relaxed weekend events.” She no longer aspires to extensive tours. Instead, she plans to focus on songwriting and relish precious moments with her longtime companion, Carl Thomas Dean.
Dolly and Carl’s story began in 1964 on the vibrant streets of Nashville. Carl, just 21, was inexplicably drawn to the cheerful 18-year-old Dolly. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Carl fondly recalled their first meeting, saying, “I had an intuition that this was the woman I was destined to wed.”
