Candace came home early and found her brightest student, Ariadne, with her husband, Octavius. Although Octavius offered excuses, Ariadne’s tears indicated a deeper issue.
Pregnant and exhausted, Candace had skipped her usual post-lecture routine. She arrived home to find Octavius’s jacket out of place and heard noises from the bedroom, where she discovered him with Ariadne. “Octavius, what is happening here?” she demanded. Octavius claimed Ariadne was seeking career advice, but Candace remained skeptical. “You need to stop! She looks terrified of you, Octavius!” Candace said.
That night, Candace found emails on Octavius’s laptop revealing he had manipulated students into sending explicit material. Horrified, she confronted Octavius, who denied any wrongdoing. Determined to protect her students, Candace informed Ariadne and the university dean, leading them to report Octavius to the police. Ariadne bravely shared her story, and Candace provided critical evidence.
“Trust me; there’s nothing to worry about,” Octavius insisted, but Candace pressed on, seeking justice. In court, Octavius was arrested, and Candace began to rebuild her life, free from his deceit.
