April was furious when she saw her husband, Benedict, staring at their new neighbor’s yard instead of mowing their lawn. Peeking over, she noticed Angela, their new neighbor, burying a large, wrapped object in her flower bed. Alarmed, April whispered to Benedict, “Angela! She’s burying something big!”
Benedict shrugged it off, suggesting it might be “garden stuff,” but April insisted, “We need to call the police.” As Angela noticed them watching, she frantically covered the object with dirt. April, trembling, dialed 911, fearing it might be a body.
The police arrived swiftly and approached Angela’s yard. “It’s not what it looks like!” Angela exclaimed, revealing the tarp covered a mannequin, not a body. Angela explained, “I’m an artist. It’s a hyper-realistic sculpture.”
The officers confirmed her story and left. Embarrassed, April apologized to Angela. Angela responded with understanding, “No harm done. It did look suspicious.” They ended the day with a laugh, and Benedict resumed mowing the lawn, bringing normalcy back to their Saturday.
