Mia, a single mom and fourth-grade teacher, finally found hope with her new boyfriend, Jake. Their weekend at his childhood beach house seemed perfect until her son, Luke, discovered a box of bones, turning their escape into a nightmare.
“Hey, Luke-a-doodle,” Mia said nervously one afternoon, “What would you say to meeting someone special for lunch this weekend?” Luke’s initial hesitation melted away after meeting Jake, who quickly won him over with his warm personality.
After several happy weekends, Jake invited Mia and Luke to his parents’ ocean-side home. The house, filled with memories, captivated them. But their joy was shattered when Luke found the bones. “Mom, we need to leave now because Jake…” he stammered.
Panicking, Mia and Luke fled, only to learn later from the police that the bones were fake, used for teaching. Overwhelmed with relief and guilt, Mia apologized to Jake, who forgave her, understanding her protective instincts.
“Let this be our funny story, not a reason to break up,” Jake reassured. This incident, now a source of shared laughter, strengthened their bond.
