On the wedding day, my wife was upset about my mom’s hairstyle, feeling it was too bridal because it included pearls, which she felt were traditionally for the bride. She believed it was inappropriate and asked me to address it.
We confronted my mom and asked her to change her hairstyle or leave. She refused, saying it was too much work to undo after spending an hour on it. She decided to leave and go somewhere nice with her husband instead.
Later, we received a lot of criticism from family and friends, who called us selfish. Despite the backlash, my wife strongly believes that my mom chose the hairstyle on purpose to cause disruption.
