A few months after her husband Adam passed away, Anne’s son Charlie buys her a new home closer to him. Initially hesitant, Anne moves but soon has to deal with her jealous daughter-in-law, Angela, who wants the house. Angela sabotages Anne by hiding a rotten egg in a vent, causing a terrible smell. When the house is fumigated, Anne suspects Angela.
Anne invites Angela and Charlie for dinner, maintaining a polite facade. During dinner, Anne says, “Respect is a two-way street. It’s about understanding and valuing each other’s feelings and spaces,” making Angela uncomfortable. The next day, Anne asks Angela to help dig up an old compost pile, making her face the stench. Angela then confesses, “I left the rotten egg in the vent.”
A few days later, Angela brings Anne a gift—a wooden box with seed packs and a note: “Thank you for teaching me about respect. I hope we can plant new memories together.” From that day on, their relationship changes for the better, and Angela becomes more like a daughter.
