Letitia James Seeking Large Donations After Criminal Referral By Trump Admin

New York Attorney General Letitia James is under scrutiny following allegations of mortgage fraud and is now raising funds for her 2026 reelection campaign.

A fundraiser invitation, with ticket prices from $500 to $18,000, has drawn attention, especially as she faces a federal referral over claims she misrepresented her primary residence to secure favorable loan terms.

The accusations center around a 2023 Virginia property and a Brooklyn building she allegedly mischaracterized in documents. Critics, including Republican lawmakers, have highlighted the irony of James’ past statements that “no one is above the law,” a phrase she used in her civil fraud case against Donald Trump.

While James has not been charged, the referral has ignited political backlash and calls for investigation. James’ camp has not publicly responded to the allegations.
